It takes 135 hours to complete three courses in order for you to take the state exam.
The courses required are:
Real Estate Principles, and
Real Estate Practice, and
One course from the following list:
Real Estate Appraisal
Property Management
Real Estate Finance
Real Estate Economics
Legal Aspects of Real Estate
Real Estate Office Administration
General Accounting
Business Law
Escrows
Mortgage Loan Brokering and Lending
Computer Applications in Real Estate
Common Interest Developments.
If you took a college course in any one of the topics above you can use your college level diploma, certificate or transcript to get credit!
The online school package I recommend costs $189 plus tax and shipping. You can also pay $89 dollars per class if you want to do the classes individually. Call (818) 338-1117 if you have any questions.
You can sign up to take the state exam once you complete the required courses.
The California Department of Real Estate requires a check or money order to the Department of Real Estate for $245 to pay for licensing fee and $60 dollars for the examination fee. You can pay the total of $305 dollars or $60 dollars to register for the exam first.
